The Scripture
(20) Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the LORD struck him, and he died.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Abijah of Judah confronted Jeroboam and Israel in battle, delivering a speech reminding them that the kingdom belonged to the house of David and rebuking their golden calf worship. Though surrounded, Judah cried out to the LORD and won a great victory, striking down five hundred thousand of Israel's chosen men, and Jeroboam never recovered his strength during Abijah's days.
