II Chronicles 11:23
The Scripture
(23) And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fenced city: and he gave them victual in abundance. And he desired many wives.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Rehoboam assembled an army to fight against the rebelling northern tribes, but the prophet Shemaiah warned him not to fight against his brethren, for the division was of the LORD. Rehoboam then fortified numerous cities throughout Judah and Benjamin for defense, and the priests and Levites from the northern kingdom came to Judah because Jeroboam had rejected them from the priesthood.
