Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Peter exhorted the elders among the believers to feed the flock of God willingly and not for greedy gain, being examples rather than lording it over them, promising a crown of glory at Christ's appearing. He called the younger to submit to the elder, urged all to humble themselves under God's mighty hand, and warned them to be sober and vigilant because the devil walks about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.
