I Kings 21:1
The Scripture
(1) And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Ahab coveted Naboth's vineyard, and when Naboth refused to sell his inheritance, Jezebel arranged false witnesses to have Naboth stoned to death so Ahab could seize the land. Elijah confronted Ahab with God's judgment that dogs would lick his blood and devour Jezebel, and Ahab humbled himself, causing the LORD to delay the disaster until after his death.
