The Scripture
(3) And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In this chapter the people of Israel defeat the Ammonites after Ahithophel, their chief, is killed. The victory is attributed to God's power and the loyalty of the Israelites. It shows that God rewards faithfulness and punishes rebellion.
