📚 About this Book
✦ Chapter Overview

First Chronicles 11 records all Israel gathering to David at Hebron to anoint him king, according to the word of the Lord by Samuel, after which he and all Israel march on Jerusalem, capture it from the Jebusites, and establish it as the city of David. Joab, who led the assault, is made commander, and the chapter lists David's mighty men, including Jashobeam who wielded his spear against three hundred at once and Abishai who likewise slew three hundred. It closes by cataloguing the rest of the renowned warriors, from the sons of Shemaah to Ithmah the Moabite, who joined themselves to David.
