(22) For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Proverbs 24 warns against envying wicked men and entering into their company, reminding the reader that evil has no lasting future. It encourages building a household through wisdom and knowledge rather than brute strength, and calls for courage in the face of adversity and justice in the face of oppression. The chapter ends with a short parable of the sluggard's overgrown vineyard, drawing the lesson that poverty and ruin come to those who sleep through their responsibilities.
