The Scripture
(50) We have therefore brought an oblation for the LORD, what every man hath gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the LORD.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In Numbers 31 the Israelites fight the Canaanite kings Sihon of Bashan and Og of Bashan, who had been raiding their territory. The battle ends with the death of both kings and the Israelites taking the land as their own. This chapter highlights God’s provision of victory and the fulfillment of the promise to give the land to the Israelites.
