Numbers 30:14
The Scripture
(14) But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establisheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Numbers 30 gives the law of vows, stating that a man who vows a vow or swears an oath to the Lord must not break his word but do all that proceeds from his mouth. For a young woman in her father's house or a married woman, her father or husband may disallow her vow on the day he hears it and it becomes void, but if he holds his peace the vow stands. The chapter closes by establishing these statutes governing vows between a man and his wife and between a father and his young daughter in his house.
