The Scripture
(28) And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In Numbers chapter 20 the Israelites rebel against God and Moses after the spies had reported that the land was hard to enter. The people are commanded to kill the spies, and they do so, but God punishes them by withholding water. The chapter illustrates the serious consequences of disobedience and the need for faithfulness.
