The Scripture
(17) Moreover there were at my table an hundred and fifty of the Jews and rulers, beside those that came unto us from among the heathen that are about us.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
The chapter records the governor’s report that the people of Jerusalem have abandoned the law, stopped giving tithes, and have built idols. Nehemiah confronts them, urging repentance and restitution. The message is that sin must be confessed and corrected before restoration can occur.
