In this chapter Jesus teaches his disciples not to worry about daily needs but to seek God's kingdom first. He warns that the heart is the measure of a person's life and that covetousness is a sin. The passage also includes the parable of the mustard seed and the teaching that true blessings come from God.

(1) Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
