In Luke 17 the disciples go to Capernaum and meet a man whose family has been tormented by a spirit for twelve years. Jesus commands the spirit to leave and the man is healed, showing his authority over evil. The chapter also records the healing of a woman who has bled for twelve years, illustrating Jesus’ compassion and power over disease.
