The Scripture
(13) If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

In this chapter the law commands the Israelites to keep the day of atonement holy and to avoid defiling it with any work or eating. It also instructs them to refrain from touching the sacred objects and to keep the altar clean. The focus is on purity and reverence for God’s holiness.
