The Scripture
(7) And when they told it to Jotham, he went and stood in the top of mount Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said unto them, Hearken unto me, ye men of Shechem, that God may hearken unto you.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In this chapter the Israelites are warned against joining the Philistines, who are preparing to attack them. The Philistines plot to kill the Israelite leaders and enslave the people, but the chapter ends with the Israelites’ fear and God’s promise to protect them.
