The Scripture
(34) And Abimelech rose up, and all the people that were with him, by night, and they laid wait against Shechem in four companies.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In this chapter the Israelites are warned against joining the Philistines, who are preparing to attack them. The Philistines plot to kill the Israelite leaders and enslave the people, but the chapter ends with the Israelites’ fear and God’s promise to protect them.
