The Scripture
(16) And the six hundred men appointed with their weapons of war, which were of the children of Dan, stood by the entering of the gate.

Gideon’s sons, who had defied his command, join the Midianites and attack Israel, causing great fear among the people. The Israelites, led by Gideon, respond with a sacrifice and a battle, and God delivers them, but the victory is followed by a period of fear and a reminder of the cost of disobedience.
