The Scripture
(28) And he, as a rotten thing, consumeth, as a garment that is moth eaten.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Job 13 opens with Job insisting he has seen and heard everything his friends have and is not inferior to them, and that he would rather reason directly with the Almighty than listen to their worthless counsel. He accuses them of forging lies and defending God with bad arguments, warning that God Himself will rebuke them for such falsehood. Job then pleads with God to withdraw His terrifying hand so he can defend himself, and he declares that though God writes bitter things against him and examines his every step, he will maintain his integrity before Him.
