The Scripture
(13) And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;

Jeremiah warns the people of Judah that they have abandoned God and worshipped false gods, building high places and sacrificing to them. He declares that God will punish them with disaster and that only true devotion to Him will bring salvation. The chapter stresses the danger of idolatry and the need for sincere repentance.
