The Scripture
(6) And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.

Jeremiah records the fall of the city of Lachish and the destruction of its temple, a sign of God’s judgment on those who persist in rebellion. The people are taken captive and the land is left barren, a vivid illustration of divine punishment for disobedience.
