The Scripture
(21) Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Jeremiah delivers a solemn warning that the nations will bring great disaster upon Judah and that the house of David will be destroyed as the house of Jacob. He says that the people's sins have led to their ruin and that only a remnant will survive. The chapter ends with a call to repentance and a promise that God will restore the land.
