Isaiah 33:2
The Scripture
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Isaiah 33 opens with a woe to the spoiler who dealt treacherously, declaring that when he ceases to spoil he shall be spoiled, and it turns to a prayer for the Lord to be gracious and be Israel's salvation in time of trouble. It describes the nations fleeing at the Lord's tumult and the spoil being gathered like locusts, then celebrates the Lord who fills Zion with judgment and righteousness, in whose time the wise and cunning will be unknown. The chapter closes with the Lord exalted as judge, lawgiver, and king who will save them, the prey divided for the lame, and the inhabitants forgiven of their iniquity so that none among them shall say they are sick.
