Genesis 38:10

In this chapter the Israelites travel from Shechem to the Jordan River, where they encounter a man named Abimelech who is a descendant of Shechem. The narrative highlights the tension between the Israelites' journey and the fear of Abimelech, who is considered a threat because of his lineage. The chapter also reflects the theme of divine providence guiding the people through their wilderness wanderings.
