Galatians 2:14
The Scripture
(14) But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In Galatians 2, the apostle Paul writes to believers in Galatia to explain that they are justified by faith alone, not by works or the law. He recounts his earlier struggle with Peter over the requirement of circumcision, which he overcame by emphasizing that faith, not circumcision, is what saves. The chapter highlights the theme that true righteousness comes from faith in Christ, not from human effort.
