The Scripture
(26) And he overlaid it with pure gold, both the top of it, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns of it: also he made unto it a crown of gold round about.

In chapter 37 the Israelites grumble against Moses for the heavy work of the bronze serpent he has made. Moses is angry at their displeasure and God commands him to set the serpent on a pole so that anyone who looks at it may be healed.
