Exodus 29:12
The Scripture
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Exodus 29 details the ceremony for consecrating Aaron and his sons to the priesthood, beginning with washing, dressing in the priestly garments, and anointing with oil at the door of the tabernacle. It prescribes the sacrifices - a bullock for a sin offering and rams for a burnt offering and a consecration offering - whose blood was applied to Aaron and his sons along with the wave offerings they would eat. The chapter closes with God's promise to consecrate the tabernacle and altar, to dwell among the Israelites, and to be their God who brought them out of Egypt.
