Exodus 12:48
The Scripture
(48) And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In Exodus 12 the Israelites are instructed to take a lamb, slaughter it, and smear its blood on the doorposts of their homes. God then passes over the houses marked with blood, sparing the people while destroying the surrounding nations. This act establishes the Passover as a sign of God's protection and a covenant promise.
