Deuteronomy 26:8
The Scripture
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Deuteronomy 26 instructs Israel, when they enter the land, to bring the firstfruits of the soil to the priest at the altar and confess what the Lord has done-bringing them from a perishing Aramean to a plentiful land. It also prescribes the tithe of the third year for the Levite, stranger, fatherless, and widow, accompanied by a declaration that they have kept the commandments. The chapter closes as Israel avouches the Lord to be their God and the Lord avouches them to be His peculiar, holy people, set high above all nations.
