Deuteronomy 12:28
The Scripture
(28) Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Deuteronomy 12 commands Israel, once they enter the land, to destroy all the places where the nations served their gods and to overthrow their altars and images, and not to worship the Lord in that way. Instead they are to bring their offerings to the place the Lord will choose to put His name, and to rejoice there before Him with their households and the Levites. The chapter closes by warning them not to enquire after the gods of those nations or to add to or diminish from what the Lord commands.
