The Scripture
(1) Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In this chapter Daniel is taken to the king's banquet and, when the magicians attempt to summon the dead, Daniel's prayer causes the lions to fall from the sky and the magicians to be thrown into the fire. The passage teaches that God is sovereign over all and that prayer can bring deliverance.
