Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In this chapter Daniel is cast into a blazing furnace as a test of God’s power, and his friends are commanded to throw water over him to protect him. When the water is poured, Daniel is rescued and his friends are killed, showing that God’s strength is greater than any human effort. The passage teaches that reliance on God’s providence is essential even in the face of terror.
