(9) And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In Amos 8 the prophet condemns the wealthy for hoarding grain, wine, and oil while the poor suffer, saying that God will judge their greed and injustice. He declares that the poor will be oppressed and that the harvest will be a sign of their unfaithfulness. The chapter ends with a call to live humbly and act justly.
