II Samuel 21:2
The Scripture
(2) And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
A three-year famine struck Israel because Saul had slain the Gibeonites, so David allowed seven of Saul's descendants to be hanged to atone for the bloodguilt. The chapter also recounts battles against Philistine giants, including Goliath's brothers, in which David's mighty men fought valiantly.
