The Scripture
(23) Now Joab was over all the host of Israel: and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and over the Pelethites:

A troublemaker named Sheba led Israel in rebellion against David, and Joab murdered his rival Amasa before pursuing Sheba to the city of Abel. A wise woman of the city persuaded the inhabitants to behead Sheba and throw his head over the wall, ending the revolt.
