The Scripture
(27) And the LORD said, I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and will cast off this city Jerusalem which I have chosen, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Josiah read the Book of the Law to the people and renewed the covenant with the LORD, then purged Judah and Jerusalem of idols, high places, and idolatrous priests, even defiling the altar at Bethel. He then celebrated a great Passover unlike any since the days of the judges, though the LORD's anger against Judah for Manasseh's sins remained.
