The Scripture
(7) So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Azariah (Uzziah) reigned in Judah but was struck with leprosy for entering the temple, while Israel saw a rapid and violent succession of kings—Zachariah, Shallum, Menahem, Pekahiah, and Pekah—many of whom were murdered by their successors. During this period Tiglath-pileser of Assyria began carrying Israelites into captivity.
