The Scripture
(21) And all the people of Judah took Azariah, which was sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amaziah.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Amaziah of Judah defeated Edom but then foolishly challenged Jehoash of Israel to battle, who warned him with the parable of the thistle and the cedar before defeating Judah and breaking down Jerusalem's wall. The chapter also records the reigns of Jeroboam II in Israel, who restored Israel's border, and Amaziah's eventual assassination.
