I Timothy 1:15
The Scripture
(15) This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Paul charged Timothy to remain in Ephesus to oppose those teaching false doctrine, fables, and endless genealogies, explaining that the law was made not for the righteous but for the lawless and disobedient. He recounted God's mercy toward himself as the chief of sinners, given to him as a pattern of Christ's longsuffering, and charged Timothy to hold faith and a good conscience.
