I Samuel 24:14
The Scripture
(14) After whom is the king of Israel come out? after whom dost thou pursue? after a dead dog, after a flea.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
While Saul pursued David in the wilderness of Engedi, he entered a cave to relieve himself, not knowing David and his men were hiding within, and David secretly cut off a corner of Saul's robe rather than kill him. David then showed Saul the cut robe as proof of his innocence, and Saul wept and acknowledged that David would surely become king.
