I Samuel 15:9
The Scripture
(9) But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
The LORD commanded Saul through Samuel to utterly destroy the Amalekites and all their livestock, but Saul spared King Agag and the best of the animals. Samuel confronted Saul, declaring that obedience is better than sacrifice, and pronounced that the LORD had rejected him as king, then killed Agag himself.
