The Scripture
(25) And king Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him that he died.

In this chapter David appoints his son Solomon as king and the people celebrate his coronation with great joy. The priests and the people offer gifts and sacrifices to honor the new ruler. The chapter highlights the transition from David’s reign to Solomon’s and the communal worship of the king.
