First Chronicles 28 records David's solemn address to the assembled leaders of Israel, in which he announces that God has chosen Solomon to build the temple and has confirmed his son's kingship. David publicly presents Solomon with the detailed architectural plans for the temple - plans that God had revealed to him - covering the courts, chambers, furnishings, and the ark's resting place. He charges Solomon before the whole assembly to be courageous and faithful, assuring him that God will be with him until every aspect of the sanctuary's construction is complete.
