Chapter overview (whole chapter)
First Chronicles 22 records David's preparations for the temple he would not build himself, gathering masons, iron, brass, and cedar in abundance from the Sidonians and Tyrians. He charges Solomon his young son to build the house of the Lord, since God had denied David the privilege because of the bloodshed of his wars but had chosen Solomon to be a man of rest and to build the sanctuary. David commands all the princes of Israel to help Solomon, urging them to set their hearts to seek the Lord and to build the sanctuary for the ark and the holy vessels.
