The Scripture
(8) These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.

In this chapter the people of Israel defeat the Ammonites after Ahithophel, their chief, is killed. The victory is attributed to God's power and the loyalty of the Israelites. It shows that God rewards faithfulness and punishes rebellion.
