The Scripture
(19) O LORD, for thy servant's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
After David's death the people mourned for seven days, weeping and crying out to God for his return. The priests and Levites were appointed to lead the mourning, and the king's son was buried in the city. The chapter emphasizes God's faithfulness and the covenant's endurance amid grief.
